WalMart Camping and Sleeping in Your Car
The city of Casa Grande does not allow you to park your RV overnight anywhere except at commercial RV parks. Living in an RV that's parked on the street or driveway is strictly forbidden. There are signs in the parking lot at WalMart that overnight camping is not allowed there either.
The same goes for sleeping in your car or RV at the brevet start location. If the police find you sleeping in your vehicle, they'll ask you to move on. Your best bet for cheap sleeps is the free campground in Casa Grande (Show me details.) or the rest stop on I-10 just north of Casa Grande. The rest stop on the southbound side is convenient for riders coming from Phoenix. The rest stop on tne northbound side is a little more inconvenient since you have to travel north and turn around at the highway exit to get to Casa Grande. I can personally recommend the I-10 rest stops. Bathrooms are clean and I've never been hassled there.
Camping
- Commercial campground at Campground Buena Tierra, located at the junction of I-10 exit 198 and Jimmy Kerr Boulevard. This is the only RV park that allows tent camping in Casa Grande. It's also very noisy due to the interstates and railroad tracks adjacent to the property.
- Free camping at North Mountain Park in Casa Grande. This includes tent camping, car camping, and RVing. Very quiet and picturesque location.
