Start Locations:
Casa Grande 300 km & 400 km

New for 2009: The start location for the Saguaro National Park 300k and Arivaca 400k is Walmart on Florence Blvd in Casa Grande not far from I-10.

(The start location for the Tombstone 600k remains the same for now - in historic downtown Casa Grande until I can find a place where we can park overnight. The start location for the 200 km brevet is the Round Trip Bike Shop on 1148 E. Florence Boulevard in Casa Grande, Arizona. Show me directions.)

Back to Walmart the the 300k and 400 k brevets: This is a 24 hour Walmart. Inside you'll find restrooms and food. I believe the McDonalds inside opens 5 AM. More options for coffee include Dennys (before Walmart on your left if you're coming from I-10) and Starbucks drive through (just past Walmart on your left if you're coming from I-10.)

Please park in the little area in front of the Game Stop. This is a separate building in the Walmart parking lot.

Directions from:

Phoenix and points north
  1. Take I-10 south and get off at Exit 194, Florence Blvd in Casa Grande.
  2. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp and go west on Florence Blvd for 1.5 miles.
  3. Walmart is on your left. Turn left at the light onto Arizola, then an immediate left into the parking lot.
Tucson and points south
  1. Take I-10 north and get off at Exit 198. Exit sign says "Jimmy Kerr Boulevard".
  2. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and go under I-10 and past the Tanger Outlet Mall.
  3. Go 1.8 miles and turn right on Arizola. It's a small street and easy to miss. As I recall there is no traffic light and no landmarks at that intersection.
  4. Go 1.9 miles on Arizola and turn left into Walmart just before the traffic light at Florence Blvd.
Holiday Inn Express
  1. Leave the Holiday Inn Express and turn right on Pinal Ave.
  2. Get into the left lane and turn left at the light onto Florence Blvd.
  3. Go 2.5 miles and turn right (S) onto Arizola at the light.
  4. Turn left into the Walmart parking lot.
Hotels on Florence Blvd
For anyone eating at Denny's before the ride, or staying at Best Western, Comfort Inn, MainStay Suites, or the Super 8 Motel, you're within a mile of the Walmart start.
  1. Get back on Florence Boulevard and go west (away from I-10).
  2. Turn left onto Arizola at the light.
  3. Turn left into the Walmart parking lot.
Motel 6 in Eloy
  1. Get on I-10 westbound.
  2. Go 2.2 miles and get off at Jimmie Kerr Blvd.
  3. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and go under I-10.
  4. Go 1.8 miles and turn right on Arizola. It's a small street and easy to miss. As I recall there is no traffic light and no landmarks at that intersection.
  5. Go 1.9 miles on Arizola and turn left into Walmart just before the traffic light at Florence Blvd.
